With a history of more than 20 years since its establishment in June 1996, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone has already grown into a comprehensive free trade zone incorporating multiple economic functions like international trade, advanced manufacturing, modern logistics and technical service, which was officially upgraded as China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone upon the approval of the State Council in September 2013.
